family_tour
Our family tours are designed for parents with young children and depart from the Earth & Sky office in Tekapo early each evening. The trip starts in the Earth & Sky bus and on arrival at Mount John our astronomy guide will take you to the MOA (Microlensing Observations in Astrophysics) telescope, where you will learn about what the international teams of astronomers study here and how they use these giant instruments to further our knowledge of the universe.

Weather permitting, you may use a special solar telescope or solar glasses to observe the Sun in complete safety. The guide will take you to our 16" telescope in a dome where you may see bright stars or planets if visible in the evening.
